 Towards the end of winter break my partner Katie and I began to discuss the mis-en-scene of our film opening. We both agreed that the establishing shot should be in a bedroom. We also agreed upon the time the scene should take place, we think nighttime would be best to create the eerie, unsettling vibe. We are still focusing on the Horror genre for our film opening along with the same plot.

It’s currently Winter break and between the time apart from school this made my partner Katie and I rethink our plot for our film opening. Previously we discussed generic ideas based off movies we have watched and other known plots, but we decided to make one up own our own. We created this idea about a young girl reading a scary book at night, and suddenly she starts experiencing the stuff happening in the book happening to her. We are still discussing who and how we are gonna make this plot work.

Over the break i watched 14 movies for inspiration for our film. Although, we ran into a slight obstacle, our other partner sara has now transferred schools so we have to combine creativity even more to make an amazing film. After watching many movies this break, especially the horror genre, we decided to go with a movie that has to do with some creature or something supernatural. We are still discussing how we are gonna create the film because we are down a person. All  specific roles we each had with our other partner has to now has to be re done.

 Today me and my group gathered together to create the genre of our film. We chose the horror genre, but we went back and forth with the plot. We decided the title of the film is "Don't Drink the Water." My partners (Sara Lange and Katie Brent) and I decided to make this film about the average life of a 15-year-old girl but with a spooky twist to it. We also got inspo from other horror movies like, Zombies, Happy death Day, and more. 

JAWS High angle shot - The high angle shot is used from an elevated perspective to really add drama to the scene. In this shot from jaws, the high angle shot is used to give the emotions of terror and suspense of being that high up above the boat in the middle of the sea. It also brings fear he may fall down.  Low angle shot - low angle shot is one in which the camera is low and looks up at the character, making them larger, more formidable and menacing, or, tall, regal and powerful. In this scene the low angle shot is used to portray a girl swimming in the middle of the Ocean. The low angle added tension to the plot this hint what is about to happen. Long shot - The long shot is a shot that remains distant but not too far away. The setting takes up most of the space in the frame. The main character or what the scene is focused on will fit completely in the frame and nothing is cut off. It gives a scene more spotlight on the character and focused on what's going on with the character. For instance, in my shot I pretended as if I was crying and the camera was tilting to give it a more dramatic effect.  I’ve always been interested in media content. Since I can remember, all I have ever done was obsess over Disney movies. I was always so fascinated in the plots and characters. My favorite of all time will always be The little mermaid. My love for Disney movies are so strong that I convinced my parents to take me to the Disney theme parks. When I discovered a media studies class was available, I immediately was excited. I am hoping to gain more knowledge on Disney media content; especially on its movies, books, and cartoons.

My name is Talya Horenstein, I am a young Jewish girl who lived in Aventura, Florida most of my life. Growing up I was obsessed with Disney films, movies, and shows. Disney films and movies really created who I am today. I've always loved Fantasy movies, especially Disney princess ones. Watching the princesses really inspired me and shaped my life. My favorite princess moving was The little Mermaid, I always remember wanting to be Ariel so bad. Walt Disney movies and films hasn't only been a huge role in my life, but actually traveling to the Disney parks really changed my whole perspective on things. Disney allowed me to experience a taste of different cultures and countries around the world by visiting its many parks. My favorite theme park, Epcot actually brings you around the world to 11 different countries. I've had the opportunity to travel with my family to different places around the world and Disney truly captures the essence of many of these places.
